Privacy Policy
YaYaExplore takes your and your child's privacy very seriously. This policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect information, and your rights. Please read carefully before using the app.
1. Information We Collect
· Account information: the email address or phone number and password (stored as a hash) you provide when registering.
· Child profile: nickname, age range, and avatar emoji. We do not collect real names, ID numbers, or facial biometrics.
· Photo data: used solely for the current species identification. The original image is deleted immediately after recognition; only a small thumbnail is retained for the collection display.
· Voice data: family members' recordings are used for voice cloning and story playback. They are encrypted and stored in the cloud, and you may delete them at any time.
· Device information: device model, OS version, app version, and network type — used only for crash diagnosis and compatibility.
· OAID: collected on domestic Android channels as required by China's MIIT, and used only for anti-fraud and channel analytics.
2. We Do Not Collect
· Contacts, SMS messages, or call logs
· Precise geolocation, IMEI, or MAC address
· Photos in your camera roll other than those taken during the current session
· Any third-party tracking IDs used for advertising profiling
3. How We Use Your Information
· To provide core features including species identification, AI story generation, voice playback, and collection management.
· To improve recognition accuracy using anonymised samples, with additional guardian consent.
· To comply with applicable laws and regulations (e.g. security audits and child protection requirements).
4. In-App Purchases & Payments
· Your payment information is processed by the App Store (iOS) or the relevant Android payment channel (Huawei / WeChat Pay / Alipay). We do not have access to your card number or payment credentials.
· The only purchase-related data we store is: your subscription tier (Lite/PRO), AI artwork credit balance, and purchase timestamps — used to provide subscription benefits and process refund reconciliation.
· Auto-renewing subscriptions are billed by the platform automatically. You may cancel at any time via your system subscription settings. Payments already made are non-refundable.
· If a refund is requested and approved by the platform, we will deactivate the corresponding membership benefits or deduct the consumed AI artwork credits accordingly.
5. Third-Party Services
· Alibaba Cloud Bailian (DashScope): species identification, AI illustration, and CosyVoice voice cloning and synthesis.
· DeepSeek: story text generation.
· ERNIE (Wenxin Yiyan): fallback for species identification.
· Supabase: accounts, database, cloud storage, and Edge Functions.
· Sentry: crash logging (no personal information included).
All of the above services are accessed via HTTPS. API keys are stored server-side and are never exposed to the client.
6. Data Retention & Deletion
· Original photos: deleted immediately after identification (within 60 seconds).
· Collection thumbnails, voice prints, and child profiles: retained until account cancellation or manual deletion.
· You may delete individual voice prints in Profile → Voice Management, or initiate full account cancellation in Profile → Delete Account.
7. Your Rights
· View and export all of your data.
· Withdraw any permission you have granted (withdrawing a permission will disable the related feature).
· Permanently delete your account and all associated data: go to Profile → Delete Account in the app. Your account is deactivated immediately; all data is permanently deleted after 30 days (you may recover your account by logging back in within 30 days).
